My name is Ameir Al-Zoubi. I'm a senior in computer science at NC State University. I'm a Mac and web developer and write applications in Cocoa, PHP, and JavaScript. I live in Raleigh, NC with my beautiful wife Taiyyaba. When I'm not writing programs I like to read science fiction (particularly Isaac Asimov and Orson Scott Card) and go skiing when the opportunity presents itself. You can follow me on twitter at twitter.com/ameir
My current project is
Guidance, a prayer times
application for Mac OS X. Designed to be simple and elegant,
Guidance sits in the menu bar and shows a countdown until the
next prayer time. When it's time for prayer, Guidance displays
a Growl notification and plays the adhan. Guidance stays out
of the way while providing you with current prayer time information.
I am hoping to release version 1.1 fairly soon, so stay tuned.
Guidance - Prayer Times for Mac OS X.
I am also working on another project, Nimr, an
online music cataloger. Nimr sets up a ready-made website for you that
allows you to search your entire library remotely based on song, artist,
album and genre. It displays album art and recognizes collections. You
can then download or listen to your own songs from anywhere.
the Nimr project page.
