My name is Ameir Al-Zoubi. I'm a computer science graduate from NC State University. I develop Mac OS X, iPhone and web applications in Cocoa, PHP, and JavaScript. I live in Raleigh, NC with my beautiful wife Taiyyaba. When I'm not writing programs I like to read science fiction (particularly Isaac Asimov and Orson Scott Card) and go skiing when the opportunity presents itself. You can follow me on twitter at twitter.com/ameir
My current project is Guidance,
a prayer times application for Mac OS X. Designed to be simple and elegant,
Guidance sits in the menu bar and shows a countdown until the next prayer
time. When it's time for prayer, Guidance displays a Growl notification and
plays the adhan. Guidance stays out of the way while providing you with
current prayer time information.

I also developed a version of Guidance for the iPhone which displays
the prayer times for your location and shows you the direction of the
Qibla on a map of your current location, thus allowing you to always
know when and where to pray. The next version (which is coming soon)
will also play the adhan to notify you that its time to pray when the
app is running.
